Women’s History Poster

Celebrate Women’s History Month in March! This poster, by award-winning illustrator Laura Freeman, showcases six notable women—Aretha Franklin, Inez Mexia, Sacajawea, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Althea Gibson, and Yuri Kochiyama—and encourages visitors to learn more about the diverse, worldwide contributions of women.

Freeman has illustrated over thirty children's books including Hidden Figures, for which she received a 2019 Coretta Scott King Illustrator Honor. Freeman is also the illustrator of the picture book biography, Althea Gibson: The Story of Tennis' Fleet-of-Foot Girl, written by Megan Reid.  The book chronicles Gibson’s trailblazing journey to become the first black Wimbledon, French, and U.S. Open tennis champion.

Special thanks to Balzer and Bray, an imprint of HarperCollins Children’s Books.
